International Admission Process

Grand View must receive all of the following items before a student is considered for admission. The deadline for receipt of all application materials for fall enrollment is June 1 and for spring enrollment is October 1.

• Completed Application for Admission.

• Official transcripts or certified copies of high school and all previous college course work. All documents should be translated and certified in English. If you have completed fewer than 24 semester hours of college course work before applying to Grand View, you MUST provide an official high school transcript, with class rank, cumulative GPA and ACT or SAT scores.

• If you wish to receive college transfer credit from institutions outside the United States, must have transcripts sent to a transcript evaluation agency within the United States. The evaluation must be course by course and cost will range from $100 to $130. Please contact the following agency Web site at www.wes.org, or a list of acceptable agencies can be found at www.edupass.org.

• Official SAT or ACT scores are required from all first-time freshmen. At the time of the test, you should request that a record of your scores be sent to Grand View. For SAT reporting purposes our code is 6251.  Our ACT code is 1316.

• Official TOEFL examination with a minimum score of 550 on the paper test or 77 on the Internet-based test. If your native language is English you are not required to have a TOEFL test. For TOEFL reporting purposes our code is 6251.

• Demonstrate on the Official Certification of Finances (6k PDF) form that you have adequate financial resources to cover the estimated annual expense budget of $33,934 for each year of attendance. Please refer to the International Student Budget Information (6k PDF) for a detailed explanation of costs you need to anticipate. Submit current bank statements substantiating the claims of financial responsibility made by yourself, your family and/or sponsor. If expenses are to be paid by a form of scholarship, full documentation from the sponsoring agency must also accompany the Official Certification of Finances.

• If you are transferring from a U.S. college or university, you will need to submit a copy of your current I-20 and the Transfer Release Form (6k PDF).

Grand View must receive all of the above items before a student is considered for admission.

We currently do not offer need-based aid to international students. Grand View does offer a merit-based grant to international students. Based on your academic credentials, we can provide a grant or scholarship from $2,000 to $8,500.  These awards will be granted after a student has been accepted for admission. There are some additional departmental and athletic scholarships available. However, those are subject to department chair and coaches recommendation.

Once you have been accepted, you will be required to pay a deposit of $1,700. $100 of this deposit will be held as an enrollment deposit and $200 will be held as a housing deposit while the remaining $1,400 will be applied to your first semester’s charges. Grand View University will only issue the I-20 to admitted students who have paid their deposit. The Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement requires a $200 Student Exchange Visitor Processing Fee and an I-901 form from all students who receive an I-20. Admitted students who have made the deposit of $1700 will receive information on this fee and the I-901 form when the I-20 is issued. The fee must be paid before applying for a visa. For more information, please refer to information about the I-901 information form at http://www.Ice.gov/sevis/i901/faq.htm.

Use the International Student Enrollment Checklist (16k PDF) to complete each step of the application and admission process.
